Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center is located in the Student Recreational Sports Complex (SRSC) on Law Lane between Jordan Avenue and Union Street.
The year 1996 marked the beginning of a new era with the opening of the Counsilman-Billingsley Center in the Student Recreational Sports Center.
The Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center features an eight-lane Olympic-sized pool spanning 30,512 square feet with depth ranging from seven to eight feet to allow for greater speed. It is complete with one of the country's few indoor diving towers, features two one-meter and three-meter springboards as well as one-, three-, five-, seven- and 10-meter platforms.
Indiana also utilizes its outdoor pool for training purposes. The outdoor pool features a 10-lane, 50-meter pool along with a separate diving well.In addition to the outdoor pool, the Hoosiers' outdoor diving facility features two three-meter boards, one-, three-, five-, seven-and-a-half and 10-meter platforms and a hot tub.
The C-BAC features nearly 3,500-square feet of spectator seating provides optimum comfort and sight lines for fans. Also, locker rooms for Indiana's varsity water polo and swimming and diving squads, as well as the visiting team, are housed at the facility along with on-deck coaches' offices.
The facility has hosted a number of events including the 1996, 2001 and 2012 NCAA Zone C Diving competition, the 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2006 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Junior Nationals and the 1998, 2001, 2005 and 2011 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center played host to the United States National Team during the 2004 season. The Hoosiers played the Olympic team as it traveled across the U.S. on a college tour.
The site has also hosted the 2000 and 2002 Water Polo National Championships. The facility played host to the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship for the first time in 2005 when the Hoosiers advanced to the finals. Indiana has twice hosted the CWPA Western Division Championship. The Hoosiers played host to the championship in both 2006 and 2009.
