BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Varsity, Inc., Universal Cheerleaders Association and Universal Dance Association recently named Indiana University Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities Chuck Crabb the Col. Gene Moeller Award winner.
The Col. Gene Moeller Award is presented annually to a college administrator who has made an impact on college level cheerleading, dance and mascots. The award is named for the former University of Tennessee assistant athletic director who passed away in 2002 after helping shape the nationally recognized UT Cheer and Dance program.
Crabb is the sixth recipient of this award that is presented annually in January during the National College Cheer and Dance Championships held at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
"I'm very humbled and honored by Varsity's recognition of Indiana University's cheerleading program," Crabb said. "I've been the primary administrator working with the IU Cheer Program since 1979. During that 30-year span, I've greatly enjoyed watching our program change and grow supporting Indiana University Athletic teams.
"This awards recognizes all the hard work invested by several hundred past and current IU students with whom I've shared the love and passion for Indiana University and our athletic program."
