
Indiana Blows Out St. Louis 7-1 on Senior Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Field Hockey fell behind early but roared back to the tune of a 7-1 win over St. Louis on Senior Day in Bloomington. Behind seven different goal scorers, including two seniors, IU finished off its home slate in exciting fashion.
With the win, IU moves to 9-8 (2-5) on the campaign while St. Louis falls to 2-13 (1-5).
KEY MOMENTS
• St. Louis grabbed the opening goal in the sixth minute after a defensive mistake from IU.
• From there on, IU dominated the match. Senior defender Mary Kate Kesler opened IU's account on the afternoon with a penalty corner goal.
• Sophomore forward Meghan Dillon tipped a shot into the net in the 18th minute to give IU the lead for good.
• After controlling much of the possession near the St. Louis circle, freshman midfielder Kira Curland fired a line-drive shot into the net from the edge of the circle.
• Freshman forward Kayla Kiwak and freshman midfielder Maggie Carter got into the scoring with second-period goals to pad IU's comfortable lead.
