Men Sixth, Women Ninth at Sean Earle Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO – Indiana's men's cross country team finished sixth overall while the women finished ninth at the 45th Sean Earle Lakefront Invitational on Friday at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course.
The Indiana women's started off the day with a ninth-place finish in the champion ship race. Senior Mariah Wehrle crossed the line first for Indiana and 30th overall with a season-best time of 20:29.8. Sophomore Lily Myers was 37th (20:33.84) followed by sophomore Katelyn Winton in 58th (20:35.94). Junior Claire Overfelt (63rd, 20:58.75) and senior Elka McFarland (69th, 21:06.68) rounded out the top five for the Hoosiers. Emma Everhart-Decker (76th, 21:08.40) and Tori Schmidt (82nd, 21:13.14) also competed for Indiana in the championship race
In the open race, all four Hoosiers recorded their first 6k times of their career with Joey Rastrelli finishing 14th overall. All Hoosiers finished within the Top 25 as Ines Herault came in 19th (21:55.95), Jessica Hegedus (21:57.68) and rounding out the competitors was Michaela Quinn in 22nd (21.58.52).
Graduate student senor Skylar Stidam and junior Martin Segurola set a new personal best to help IU to a sixth-place finish in the men's 8k championship race. Stidam finished eighth with a time of 23:03.24 while Segurola came in at 27th (23:45.91). Also posting Top 50 finishes were junior Abe Eckman (33rd, 23:51.24) and freshman Dylon Nalley (50th, 24:10.53). Freshman Tony Provenzano rounded out the top five finishers for the Hoosiers with a time of 24:10.82.
Competing in the men's 8k open, junior Nolan Satterfield finished at the top of the field with a 24:22.45 while teammate sophomore Garrett Hicks came in sixth (24:54.56) and freshman Aaron Lord rounded out the Top 10 finishers in 10th with a time of 24:59.91. Sophomore Cole Raymond wrapped up the Hoosiers in the open in 19th with a time of 25:36.39.
