Hoosier Men Wrap Up In-State Competition

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana Men's Tennis closed out play at the Fighting Irish Classic this weekend, which was highlighted by a pair of singles victories from Matteo Antonescu in the open draw. After dropping his opening match to Notre Dame's Giuseppe Cerasuolo, Antonescu bounced back with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(7) win over Nick Patrick (ND) and followed it with another comeback victory against Kyran Magimay (ND), 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(8).
In other singles action, Luc Boulier and Sam Scherer each competed in the open rounds. In doubles, Antonescu and Scherer teamed up to split their two matches, falling 6-4 to Notre Dame's Evan Lee/Noah Becker before claiming a 6-4 consolation win over Western Michigan's Oscar Corwin/Jack Davison.
