HUMACAO, Puerto Rico – The Indiana men's golf team finished fifth at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate after a 54-hole score of 860 (296-283-281; -4) at the Palmas Del Mar Country Club from Feb. 9-11.

CHIP-INS
• For the second-straight tournament (third time this season) redshirt junior Clay Merchent shot under par to lead the Indiana lineup. He tied for fourth with a scorecard of 210 (72-70-68; -6). The Noblesville, Ind., native converted 13 birdies with five in both the second and third round.
• Sophomore Cole Starnes knocked down a team-best 14 birdies to shoot a 214 (72-74-68; -2). He tied for 15th in the individual standings.
• Sophomore Alec Cesare ended the three-day event at 218 (76-67-75; +2). He converted an eagle in the second round to go along with eight total birdies.
• Sophomore Nick Piesen tallied nine birdies on his way to a 221 (77-72-72; +5).
• Freshman Bradley Chill Jr. shot a 224 (76-75-73; +8). He added seven birdies and an eagle on the 609-yard, Par-5 No. 16 in the third round.
• Redshirt senior Robert Bender III, playing as an individual, finished at 224 (76-75-73; +8) with five birdies and an eagle.
