Indiana Track and Field Announces Promotion of Valerie Brown to Associate Head Coach

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field head coach Ed Beathea announced assistant coach Valerie Brown to associate head coach.
Brown receives this promotion after serving as an assistant coach the past two seasons. She will continue to work with the sprinters, hurdlers, and relays.
Brown has a history of generating success on the track, dating back to her time with Austin Peay. When in Clarksville, Brown developed athletes that at the time held school indoor records in the 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, and 4x400 relay. She also led athletes to hold outdoor records in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 100 hurdles, and 4x100 relay
Since joining the Hoosier staff, Brown has helped lead multiple athletes to regional appearances, including an Indoor All-American (Kenisha Phillips), U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier and several school record holders.
