Baseball Announces Walk-On Tryout Date

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Walk-on tryouts for the Indiana baseball team have been scheduled for Thursday, September 11th at 5 p.m. at Bart Kaufman Field. Please follow the following steps to ensure you are eligible to participate in tryouts. This will be the only day for walk-on tryouts. All prospective players should follow the steps listed below.
1. Fill out the Walk-On Tryout Application at the LINK HERE
2. Download, print, and complete the student-athlete portion of the attached Tryout Clearance Packet (first half of page 1).
3. To complete Step 1: Head Coach/Designee Approval, please stop by the baseball offices at Bart Kaufman Field to get Director of Operations Morgan Colopy's signature. You can set up a time to get this by emailing him at (mcolopy@iu.edu) or text at 937-630-1614.
4. To complete Step 2: Indiana Sports Medicine Approval, you will need physical proof of a physical and Sickle Cell Test on file within the past six months. You can get these at the IU Health Center on campus if needed. You will need to bring these to Joel Langemaat located in Memorial Stadium South Endzone Athletic Training Room for approval. Joel can be reached at (jvlangem@indiana.edu) or 317-979-0607 if you can't find him in the training room.
5. Complete the Indiana University Drug Test Consent Form located on the second page of the Tryout Clearance Packet.
6. To complete Step 3: Office of Compliance Services' Approval, please scan and send the Tryout Clearance packet, with all appropriate signatures, to Brooke Richardson (bleins@iu.edu) by Monday September 8th at 5 p.m.
7. You will receive a confirmation email that you are cleared to participate in the tryout, YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE IN THE TRYOUT UNLESS YOU RECEIVE THIS CONFIRMATION EMAIL.
