Hoosiers Force Draw In Big Ten Opener

Urbana-Champaign, Ill. – Indiana women's soccer opened Big Ten play with a 0-0 draw at Illinois on Friday night. The combo of senior goalkeeper Dani Jacobson and Graduate Sally Rainey continued to be a force in goal, shutting Illinois' high-power offense out for the first time this season.
With the draw, Indiana now sits at 3-2-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in Big Ten play.

KEY MOMENTS
- The first half was a physical first 45'. Neither team could find their rhythm offensively, as both teams combined for six total shots by halftime.
- Illinois came into the second half on the offensive. Rainey made back-to-back saves for the Hoosiers to keep things tied at 0-0 in the 57th minute.
- Senior forward Marisa Grzesiak had two opportunities on break aways, but was unable to find the back of the net.
- Illinois tried to make one last effort to score, but Rainey would not allow a goal on four shot attempts in the final five minutes, forcing the 0-0 draw.

- Rainey posted her third game this season with five saves.
- Grzesiak recorded four of Indiana's six shots in the game.
