No. 10 Indiana Posts Two Convicting Wins At Midwest Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 10 Indiana improved to 8-1 with two wins to start the Midwest Invitational against Mercyhurst (26-3) and Mount St. Mary's (12-13) on Saturday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS VS. MERCYHURST
- IU's rout of the Lakers began with a seven-goal opening period where sophomore Gwenyth Le found the back of the net with 5:41 to play. Sophomore Keira Blitzer added a pair in the first as Indiana went up 7-1.
- The lead continued to grow in the second with seven more unanswered as the Hoosier lead increased to 14-1 at the break. Junior Olivia Harris added a pair to pace her team in the second.
- Indiana flexed its offensive dominance in the second half, outscoring Mercyhurst 12-2 overall. Four players finished the game with hat tricks, led by Blitzer's career-high four goals.
NOTES VS. MERCYHURST
- Indiana set a new program record for goals scored in a single game with 26, besting its previous record of 25 set against Whittier on March 25, 2023.
- Blitzer scored a career-high four goals and her third hat trick of the season. Also finishing with three goals each were freshman Kylie Williams, Le, senior Nicole Tyner and senior Louisa Downes.
- Sophomore Summer Stelk finished the day with a pair of goals, a career-high six steals and four assists. She had a team-high six points in the win.
- All three goalies saw action in the effort, with senior Jasmine Higgs (three saves), junior Audrey Cox (three saves, three assists, two steals) and Maggie Frye (one saave) shared time in goal.
KEY MOMENTS VS. MOUNT ST. MARY'S
- In its second matchup with the Mount this season, Indiana used a 4-0 second quarter to pull ahead 6-1 at the break. The Hoosiers were highlighted by back-to-back natural goals from senior Nicole Tyner.
- Freshman Audrina Kang and senior Savannah Batchelor combined in the third to up the lead to 8-the 2 with 5:25 remaining.
- The scoring wealth was spread throughout the second half, with six different players contributing to the 12-3 win.
NOTES VS. MOUNT ST. MARY'S
- Tyner led the way with a hat trick, her second hat trick of the season and fourth multi-goal game.
- Senior goalie Jasmine Higgs had six goals along with a steal while sharing time in goal with junior Audrey Cox who had a save, assist and steal.
- Four players finished with a team-high three points including junior Olivia Harris who had a team-high three assists.
- Junior Nancy Baylor-Sefchick and freshman Kylie Williams each drew three earned exclusions each.
