Freshmen Clark, Shackell Vie for Big Ten Titles Thursday Night

MINNEAPOLIS – Indiana women's swimming and diving freshmen Liberty Clark and Alex Shackell have put themselves in prime position for their first individual Big Ten medals when finals come around Thursday (Feb. 19) night at the 2026 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships inside the Jane K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Clark and Shackell earned the top seeds in their respective events – the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly – during Thursday morning's preliminary session. The evening session will kick off at 6 p.m. ET.

Indiana advanced 15 scoring athletes from Thursday's early session, including five championship finalists. IU will also compete in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the No. 2-seeded team.

Thursday night's finals sessions at the 2026 Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will kick off at 6 p.m. ET with the consolation final of the 1-meter diving competition. Hoosiers will compete in finals of the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 1-meter diving and 200 freestyle relay.
