Hoosiers Drop Tight 4-3 Match at No. 45 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. — The No. 60 Indiana men's tennis team lost a tight match on the West Coast to No. 45 Oregon, 4-3. Indiana now moves to 6-6 overall this season.
In doubles, the Ducks opened the scoring with Oregon's No. 39-ranked duo of Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca defeating Indiana's No. 33-ranked duo of Sam Landau and Jip van Assendelft, 6-1. At No. 3, Oregon clinched the doubles point with Oregon's Cameron Burton and Lachlan Robertson defeating Braeden Gelletich and Facundo Yunis, 6-4.
In singles, Indiana rallied to force a 3-3 stalemate. At No. 2 singles, Facundo Yunis cruised to a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Oregon's Pierre Mouesca. In similar fashion at No. 3, Michael Andre won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, over Oregon's Sam Olszakowski. To get Indiana's third point, freshman Aryan Badlani made his debut in Big Ten competition and secured a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Declan Galligan.
Oregon earned its three points in singles by way of Vlad Breazu defeating Jip van Assendelft 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Indiana's Braeden Gelletich at No. 4 singles was defeated by Matthew Burton in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Tied at three, Oregon's Lachlan Robertson was able to defeat Aidan Atwood in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, to cement the 4-3 win for Oregon.
Indiana won't have to wait long for their next match, as the Hoosiers continue their West Coast road trip on Sunday, when they play the Washington Huskies at 3 p.m. ET
