BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The IU women's tennis team overcame the No.45 Iowa Hawkeyes with a strong showing in singles play on Friday afternoon at the IU Outdoor Tennis Center in Bloomington, Ind.

Key Moments

Freshman duo Hi'ilani Williams and Alessandra Teodosescu kept their No.28 ranked matchup against Mack and Hayashida close, ending in a 5-4 decision after the Hoosiers dropped courts one and two, resulting in Iowa taking the doubles point and leading 1-0 going into singles play.
Indiana quickly crawled back from the deficit with stand-out performances in singles play. Williams contributed to the effort at court number five, defeating Vishwase of Iowa to add points to the Hoosier score and tying the match, 1-1.
Junior Elisabeth Dunac followed with a singles No.3 victory, triumphing her opponent to give the home team the 2-1 edge. At court six, sophomore Nicole Sifuentes pushed past Kranholdt to help the Hoosiers continue to dominate the singles courts, clinching the 6-1,6-4 win.
After dropping singles No.1 against No.57 ranked Mack, Senior Nicole Teodosescu closed it out at singles No. 4 (6-1,6-4) to help Indiana overcome the Hawkeyes with a 4-2 conference victory.
