BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The IU women's tennis team overcame the No.45 Iowa Hawkeyes with a strong showing in singles play on Friday afternoon at the IU Outdoor Tennis Center in Bloomington, Ind.

- Freshman duo Hi'ilani Williams and Alessandra Teodosescu kept their No.28 ranked matchup against Mack and Hayashida close, ending in a 5-4 decision after the Hoosiers dropped courts one and two, resulting in Iowa taking the doubles point and leading 1-0 going into singles play.
- Indiana quickly crawled back from the deficit with stand-out performances in singles play. Williams contributed to the effort at court number five, defeating Vishwase of Iowa to add points to the Hoosier score and tying the match, 1-1.
- Junior Elisabeth Dunac followed with a singles No.3 victory, triumphing her opponent to give the home team the 2-1 edge. At court six, sophomore Nicole Sifuentes pushed past Kranholdt to help the Hoosiers continue to dominate the singles courts, clinching the 6-1,6-4 win.
- After dropping singles No.1 against No.57 ranked Mack, Senior Nicole Teodosescu closed it out at singles No. 4 (6-1,6-4) to help Indiana overcome the Hawkeyes with a 4-2 conference victory.
