No. 12 Hoosiers Advance To MPSF Fifth Place Game With Win Over No. 19 SJSU

BERKELEY, Calif. – Junior Olivia Harris set a season-high four goals as No. 12 (6-seed) Indiana advanced to the MPSF Championship fifth-place game with a 14-11 win over No. 19 (7-seed) SJSU on Saturdy at Spieker Aquatic Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Hoosiers (16-10) got on the board first in a back-and-forth first quarter as a drawn exclusion led to the 6-on-5 opportunity for junior Gwenyth Le who skipped the shot into the goal. Junior Olivia Harris pushed the lead to 2-0 before the Spartans responded with three-straight goals.
- Both teams answered each others call late in the frame to take a 4-4 tie into the second.
- Harris and freshman Kylie Williams gave Indiana a brief lead at 6-5 in the second. SJSU would score a pair including one with 45 seconds to go in the first half to take a 7-6 lead at the break.
- Indiana used a six-goal third quarter to finally break out of the tie game on a Klingler goal at the 3:17 mark. It would go on to secure a two-goal edge leading to the fourth as Harris completed her hat trick in the frame.
- The largest lead of the day, a three-goal lead, highlighted the fourth quarter as the Cream and Crimson defense was able to hold off the Spartans down the stretch.
NOTES
- Harris paced the Hoosiers with a season-high four goals on six shots and an assist, steal and field block. She tied senior Louisa Downes with five points in the game as she recorded a season-high five assists on the afternoon.
- Senior goalie Jasmine Higgs led in the cage with nine saves and a steal.
- Williams finished the day with a pair of goals, an assist and team-high two drawn exclusions.
- Indiana wins both metings against SJSU this season, as it also picked up the 14-12 win in San Jose on March 20.
