Jess Petrie Signs With Indiana Women’s Basketball

BLOOMINGTON, ind. – Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren has announced the signing of Jess Petrie to the 2026-27 roster. A 6-foot-2 forward from Gold Coast, Australia, Petrie will have one year of eligibility remaining.
She spent her first three seasons at Nebraska where she played in 98 career games and made 46 starts. As a junior in 2025-26, she averaged a career-best 11.3 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game and shooting 44.9 percent from the floor. Petrie played in all 30 games last season for the Huskers, where she scored in double figures 20 times. In her three seasons, she averaged 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and shot 46 percent from the floor as she helped them to three NCAA Tournament apppearances.
In her first two seasons with the Huskers, she started in 23 games as a sophomore (2024-25) and came off the bench in all 35 games as a freshman (2023-24). Her sophomore season yielded 6.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game averages. Off the court, Petrie is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
The Aussie native has spent extensive time with the Australian National Teams since 2022. She has played on U16, U17, U18 and U19 National Teams, most recently at the FIBA World Cup in July 2023. In her four stints, she has averaged 8.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
