BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– The Indiana football program hosted a media session in the Don Croftcheck Team Room inside Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium following the 11th spring practice of 2026 on Tuesday (April 21). Offensive linemen Drew Evans and Bray Lynch and kicker Nico Radicic all talked following practice.
Below is a partial transcript of the press conference, while video of the media session can be found in the links above or at IUHoosiers.com/watch.
Drew Evans | OL | R-Sr.
On how Baylor Wilkin has been and his growth…
DE: He's getting a lot of reps against higher caliber guys and I think that he's really stepped up to that challenge. It's been nice to see him rise to the occasion there, and I think he's been doing a really good job in this camp.
On being healthy this spring ball…
DE: It's been really nice. I think spring is a huge time where you're able to hone things down and really sharpen yourself. I think it's been really beneficial for me.
Bray Lynch | OL | R-Sr.
On dealing with offseason injury…
BL: Happened early on in fall camp, but had some loose bodies in my ankle and I didn't want to do anything with it during the season because I'd miss too much time, so I waited until the end of the year.
On if it was hard to play on during the year…
BL: I don't make excuses for myself, but just a thing that happened.
On the potential of this year's offensive line…
BL: The sky is the limit, truly. We got a ton of experience, and we've got some young players and we've got some players ready to fit into a new role. We have a great group of guys. All great families, great heads on their shoulders, we have a smart group.
We're starting to finally build all that chemistry together; it's taken a little bit but that just happens with time. Super excited to see this group get after it. I mean, you got leaders, you got silent workers, this, that, positive, confident individuals. There is nothing this group can't do.
Nico Radicic | K | R-Jr.
On Coach Grant Cain and the way he coaches so effectively…
NR: When it comes to specialists, the most important thing is to leave the guy on his own, let him do his own thing and find his own confidence. And that's what Coach Cain does, he doesn't come up to me before games and boost my head for five minutes and tell me what to do that day.
It's kind of just 'do your thing, Nico' and after the game, we'll all be happy because you did your job.
On improving his range in the offseason…
NR: It's all about contact. It was never about how strong my leg was. I just had to find where that plant foot felt comfortable and where I can swing through the ball.
And I can say that confidently now that range is not a problem for me anymore.
On where he thinks his range is…
NR: 58 (yards).
