Hoosiers Swimmers Set for Pan Pacific Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Seven individuals will represent the Indiana swimming and diving program at the 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, August 12-15 at the William Wollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California.
Five swimmers – Josh Matheny, Van Mathias, Anna Peplowski and siblings Aaron and Alex Shackell – and IU head swimming coach Ray Looze will rep Team USA at the most highly anticipated international meet of the summer. Incoming first-year Hoosier Oliver Dawson will represent Canada.
Fans can watch every session of the meet on Peacock and the NBC Sports Network. Preliminary sessions will stream at 1 p.m. ET each day, followed by finals at 10 p.m.
Matheny, Peplowski and the Shackell siblings all competed 2024 Paris Olympics, while Mathias is the nation's leading sprint breaststroke swimmer this cycle. Mathias – the IU program's director of operations – this summer has twice broken the American record in the 50-meter breaststroke and once in the 100-meter event.
Between Mathias and multi-time Olympic Champion Lilly King, Indiana swimmers own seven American record in breaststroke events.
