BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Following the second day of the Indiana football program's fall camp on Thursday (August 6) wide receiver Charlie Becker and linebacker Rolijah Hardy spoke with the media in the Don Croftcheck Football Team Room.

On gaining confidence through the offseason...
CB: Absolutely. I think as I get older and continue to grow and know more about the offense and able to read defenses; just seeing how I've improved, I think my confidence has also gone up. [It's also helped] being able to trust myself and trust my teaching.
On how he has approached being a leader in the wide receiver room...
CB: I will tell you what, it is weird. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was sitting in that room with Elijah [Sarratt], E.J. [Williams Jr.], Coop [Omar Cooper Jr.], and all of these guys that were teaching me how to become a leader. I kind of got bits and pieces from each one of them. They were all such great leaders, and they taught me so much, so just being able to take pieces from them and put it into my own leadership and help out these younger guys to try and make them the best man that they can be.
On how the wide receivers have meshed with a new quarterback...
CB: Josh [Hoover] is one of the hardest workers. He texts me all the time - like every weekend and during the weekdays. He always wants to throw and work on our connection. He texts out to all of our wide receivers. We are out there doing spot catches, making sure our legs aren't dead.
Josh just really wants to see all of us succeed and build connections with all of us. Because, you never know what could happen. That's just a testament to how much of a hard worker Josh is.

On what the preseason recognitions mean to him...
RH: Yes, I appreciate the recognition, but it is all preseason stuff. So, you just try to take that, use that as confidence that you have that ability and then just going from there for the season.
On what changes for him without Aiden Fisher...
RH: Aiden is a great player and definitely learned a lot from him, for me the past two years. He was a great leader. That leadership role between me and Isaiah [Jones] has to be bigger this year. Also, making more plays without him out there. Someone has to make those plays, so it may as well be me and [Isaiah] at the linebacker position.
On the young linebackers...
RH: They are definitely getting way better. They are good learners and we have been at them hard this summer getting them ready for fall camp and the season. Our coaches do a really good job teaching. I think that is one of the best thing about our coaches: being able to teach the playbook and everything.
