BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – From the jump, you could tell it felt good to be home. The 21st-ranked Indiana volleyball team (4-2, 0-0 B1G) cruised early and held on late to earn a sweep (25-11, 25-16, 28-26) of Cal Poly (3-3, 0-0 Big West) on Thursday (Sept. 10) evening at Wilkinson Hall. The victory was the 24th-consecutive victory over an unranked opponent on IU's home floor.

IU's offense needed a statement night and its attackers delivered. The Hoosiers hit .378 (41-10-82) over three games including a blistering .700 in the opening frame. Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager had 14 kills on a .400 hitting percentage and finished one dig (9) shy of a double-double. Second-year middle blocker Victoria Gray came alive late with nine kills on a .538 clip.

The Hoosiers put pressure on Cal Poly's passers from the opening serve. It led to a team advantage in aces (8-2), digs (28-26) and blocks (11.0-4.0). Fifth-year middle blocker Kiki Granberry had her best night in an IU uniform with six kills and seven blocks. Her and third-year opposite hitter Ella Boersema (5-0-12) were both errorless on 21 combined attempts.

Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic got all of her attackers involved in the team offensive effort. All five of them had at least five kills. It's the ninth time in the last two years that IU has hit .375 or better in a match. Krickovic finished the evening with 34 assists, five digs, four blocks, two aces and two kills.

IU will look to complete the home weekend sweep tomorrow (Sept. 11) evening as Eastern Illinois visits Wilkinson Hall to wrap up this year's Indiana Invitational. A win against the Panthers would ensure that IU starts with a record of at least 5-2 through seven games for the third-consecutive year.

How it Happened
• Execution of the scouting report and a dominant first frame set the tone for Thursday's victory. All five primary attackers had at least five kills for IU with second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager (14) and second-year middle blocker Victoria Gray (9) combining for 23.

• Being able to score your own points is the key to winning big games. On top of 41 kills in three sets, the Hoosiers added eight aces and 11 blocks. It's the first time since last year's NCAA second round win over Colorado that IU has gone for 10-or-more blocks in a match that lasts only three sets.

Notes to Know
• IU has now won six-straight home openers and eight of nine under head coach Steve Aird. It's the second win of the year in three tries against a team that advanced to last year's NCAA regional semifinals. IU also knocked off defending national champions Texas A&M last week.

• IU's offense hit at a remarkable .700 clip in the first set of Thursday's victory over Cal Poly. The Hoosiers had 14 kills and committed zero errors on 20 attacks. It's the highest percentage that IU has hit in a single set since a game two victory over Maryland (.700 – Nov. 25, 2022) four years ago.

• The Hoosiers held on to hit .378 for the match with 41 kills in three sets. It's the ninth time in the last two seasons (seventh time at Wilkinson Hall) that IU has hit over .375 a match. Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager contributed double-digit kills (14) for the fifth-consecutive match.

• Head coach Steve Aird's group continues to love playing on the home court at Wilkinson Hall. Over the last five seasons, IU is 41-15 on its home court. The program has now stretched its home winning streak against unranked opponents to 24-consecutive matches, a run that dates back to 2023.
