CONWAY, S.C. – Tough teams answer the challenge in big ways.

After losing game two, the Indiana volleyball team (7-2, 0-0 B1G) rattled off a pair of big set victories to finish off a win over NC State (25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19) on Saturday (Sept. 19) afternoon. IU finishes the non-conference slate on a five-game winning streak and now has three wins over power conference opponents in 2026. It's the fifth-straight year that the Hoosiers will enter league play with at least seven victories.

IU's offense has found its groove after a tough start to the campaign. Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic provided 44 assists and ensured that all five primary attackers had at least seven kills. Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager matched a career high with 20 kills while hitting .485. Third-year opposite hitter Ella Boersema was back in double digits with 13 kills (.500 hitting percentage).

When IU needed a jolt this weekend, third-year defensive specialist Emma Segal provided one. She recorded a career high four aces while digging six balls and assisting on another. She has played an increased role this season and now has 13 aces to just eight errors this year from the end line. IU racked up 10 aces on the afternoon, giving the team consecutive matches with double-digit aces for the first time in over three years.

Since 2022, IU now has seven regular season wins against SEC or ACC opponents. IU's only two defeats this season came to a pair of teams currently in the AVCA top 20. The 17-match Big Ten grind begins on Thursday (Sept. 24) evening as UCLA visits Wilkinson Hall. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in Bloomington.

How it Happened
• Even while dropping the second set, IU's offense worked at a high level. A heavy advantage in kills (61-45) was a driving factor in picking up the seventh win of the campaign. Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager (20) and third-year opposite hitter Ella Boersema (13) combined for 33 of those kills.

• A much better night from the service line helped the Hoosiers come out with a four-set win. IU had 10 aces on the afternoon but 11 fewer service errors than last night's win over Coastal Carolina. Third-year defensive specialist Emma Segal was the second IU player with four aces in a match this weekend (4 - Teodora Krickovic at Coastal Carolina).

Notes to Know
• A night after picking up 12 aces against Coastal Carolina, IU added 10 more in the win over NC State. Five different players had one, led by four from third-year defensive specialist Emma Segal. It's the first time IU has had double-digit aces in consecutive contests since 2023 (3-straight; 12 – at Miami (Fla.), 11 vs. Stetson and 10 at Austin Peay).

• Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager recorded her second career 20-kill match, matching her career high in the process. She hit .485 and added seven digs in the win over the Wolfpack. On the weekend, Jager averaged 4.75 kills per set while hitting .427 in the pair of victories. She surpassed 500 career kills in Saturday's contest.

• Behind a balanced offensive effort, IU hit .354 for the match with 61 kills and just 16 attacking errors. It's the fourth-straight contest that the team has hit .330 or better. All five primary attackers had at least seven kills while second-year setter Teodora Krickovic recorded 40+ assists for the 15th time in her career.

• Since the beginning of the 2023 campaign, IU is now 35-10 (.778) against non-Big Ten opponents. That includes a 2-1 slate against teams in last year's NCAA Tournament. In that stretch, the Hoosiers have had a win against an ACC foe in every single year (2023 – Miami (Fla.), 2024 – Notre Dame, 2025 – Miami (Fla.) and 2026 – NC State). IU will head into Big Ten play with at least seven wins for the fifth-straight year.
