BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– As Indiana Football's Week 4 matchup versus Northwestern on Friday (September 25) approaches, wide receiver Charlie Becker and linebacker Isaiah Jones addressed the media inside the Don Croftcheck Football Team Room on Tuesday (September 22).

On how it was playing on special teams on Saturday...
CB: I love special teams because that's where I started off. As a freshman, I really wanted to get on the field anywhere I could, and I found myself on special teams. When all three phases of our teams are working, you know that's really good football. I just want to contribute in any way, and I'm really excited to be on the field at all times.
On what makes Shazz Preston a good player...
CB: (Shazz) Preston is a really good player. He hits really hard, which is one thing that I found out quickly when we were going good on good. Preston will always fit the run, and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty.
On how it's like to hear Friday Night Lights and what that means to him...
CB: I love Friday Night Lights. It really takes me back to high school and the atmosphere. Hoosier Nation has the best fans in the world, and I know they're all going to show up and show out. It's like you know to stay for the whole game, so I'm really pumped to see that.
Isaiah Jones | LB | Fifth Year
On what he has seen on film from Northwestern so far and quarterback Aidan Chiles..
IJ: They've got a lot of athletes, and they do a good job of getting their athletes the ball, whether it's the running backs, the tight ends, the receivers, the quarterback on runs. They're a good football team, well coached. We're excited to open Big Ten play with them here on Friday.
On Cignetti and the impact of the Indiana Crowd…
IJ: The crowd is loud. For an offense, it's hard for them to check, it's hard for them to audible, when you're playing with all these fans yelling and getting loud on third down. It's like the 12th defender. I think Coach Cig said something about it being like a seven-point, 14-point swing. When you have an atmosphere like that, it's hard for the other team to communicate. You get a little rattled. Maybe the bright lights get a little bit too bright. And for us, we just feel comfortable with that. We feel comfortable with our fans, and we embrace having them there.
On Big ten play and the goals of the rest of season…
IJ: We're very critical of ourselves on defense. So, when you play a better opponent, you're either going to rise to the challenge, or maybe a few weaknesses get exposed. So, we accept both those challenges. We want to see what our weaknesses are so we can perform better, so we can fix those as the season goes on. The team you're playing with in Week 12 isn't the team you're playing with in Week 1 and Week 5. So, we're always trying to get better. The team needs to improve each week, week in, week out.
