BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana men's soccer (4-0-1, 0-0-0 B1G) remains unbeaten after defeating Cal Poly (1-1-3, 0-0-0 Big West) 2-0 Friday (Sept. 4) night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Both teams entered the match undefeated, and the Hoosiers handed the Mustangs their first loss of the season thanks to a second-minute goal from Oliver Moller-Jensen and an insurance score from Wes Carnevale.

Indiana kept its third clean sheet in five matches, has not allowed a goal through open play this season and has outscored opponents 10-2. The Hoosiers have won each of their first four home matches as they get set to host Denver Monday in the finale of this weekend's adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.

KEY MOMENTS
• 2' – GOAL! Clay Murador's shot from the left side of the box was pushed away by the goalkeeper. The ball trickled to the back post, where Moller-Jensen was in the right place at the right time to fire it home. Indiana 1, Cal Poly 0
• 30' – A great dribbling run gave Rylan Firouznam and the Mustangs numbers and space going downhill. Firouznam crossed to Roman Anast, whose sliding effort found the back of the net. However, the flag went up and marked off the near-equalizer.
• 31' – GOAL! Alex Barger whipped in an inswinging corner kick from the right side. The ball sailed just over the outstretched arms of the Cal Poly keeper, and Carnevale met it with a header at the back post. Indiana 2, Cal Poly 0
• 44' – Cal Poly had a flurry of chances right before the half, forcing a great save from IU goalkeeper Michal Mroz and a clearance off the line by Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Nick McHenry.
• 84' – McHenry was inches away from his second goal in three games, meeting a free kick with a header that banged off the back post.

NOTABLES
• Oliver Moller-Jensen has sustained his early form, recording his fourth goal and sixth goal contribution through five matches.
• Wes Carnevale scored his first goal as a Hoosier with his 31st-minute header.
• Friday's win gives Indiana the advantage in a young all-time series with Cal Poly, improving to 2-1-0 from the first meeting of the two programs since 2017.
• Murador earned his first goal contribution of the season with his assist to Moller-Jensen.
• Barger recorded his third assist of the season and has assisted in consecutive matches.
• Eleven different Hoosiers have contributed to 10 goals this season.
• Indiana has not allowed a goal from open play through five matches (450 minutes) this season, its lone concessions coming from a penalty and a free kick.

Indiana will host Denver Monday (Sept. 7) in the second and final match of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. The match marks IU's final test before opening Big Ten Conference play at Michigan next Friday (Sept. 11).
