BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– As Indiana Football's Week 2 matchup versus Howard on Saturday (September 12) approaches, third year student-athletes Charlie Becker and Rolijah Hardy addressed the media inside the Don Croftcheck Football Team Room.

On adjusting to different quarterback playing styles…
CB: It's just as soon as the season ends, you're getting prepared, talking with the other quarterbacks, and just starting to build that connection. All the receivers catch jugs every day. We catch anywhere from 100 to 200 balls. So, we're just trying to stay prepared. We're throwing with Josh outside of practices and keeping that connection strong.
On what sets quarterback Josh Hoover apart from the other quarterbacks Becker has played with…
CB: Josh's preparation for games has been unbelievable. I've seen him here 24/7. He is really trying to read his opponents, read the defense, break down film, and gain any slight advantage he can on his opponents. Also, his leadership has been a huge point for our offense. He does a great job of commanding us, taking control, getting the boys going when we need to get going, and telling us that's not good enough when we're practicing not great.
On Josh Hoover's nose injury on Saturday versus North Texas and how that motivated the rest of the team…
CB: That was badass. This kid is a tough kid. I came back to the huddle, and he had blood all over his face, but he didn't go out, which was motivating for our whole offense. If he is out here bloodied up, then we can suffer through a couple more plays and play for one another.

On how big sports were in his family and what it was like growing up in an athletic home...
RH: I feel like sports are something that brings everybody; it builds character. The main thing for us was day in and day out work. It kept my siblings and I close and my parents. Having parents that's done it allowed me to put my full trust in them.
On what's been the focus the past couple of days in practice on the defensive line side after being disappointed on Saturday...
RH: On Monday we watched film and then went in and made those corrections. We've been hammering those corrections really hard in practice.
On what he seen from Jalen Bell after stepping up after starting corners went out...
RH: Jay (Jaylen) Bell, you could see his improvement during the summer and fall camp; you could tell he was going to be a great player. For him to be able to step in is good to see; it gives us that sense that we have great depth at the corner position.
