2025 (Graduate Student Season – Indiana)
Note: Ben Grable was selected 344th overall in the 11th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees.

Awards: Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Stats: Finished top-100 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.82) … 86th in the country in strikeouts per nine innings (10.38).

Season: Made 17 appearances with 11 starts on the mound … one of two IU pitchers (Cole Gilley) with at least 10 starts on the campaign … held a 4.31 earned run average with a 4-3 record across 56.1 innings pitched … provided a pair of saves out of the bullpen … worked 65 strikeouts to just 17 walks … opposing batters hit just .244 against the big right-hander … provided multiple strikeouts in each of his final 14 outings … had at least five strikeouts on six occasions … made IU debut on opening weekend against Xavier (2/15) … picked up wins against Northwestern (2/24), Stetson (2/28), Penn State (3/7) and Maryland (4/18) … at the time – was the first IU pitcher since Gabe Bierman (2021) with consecutive starts of at least five innings and one-or-fewer earned runs allowed (2/28 – at Stetson & 3/7 – at Penn State) … started one game in nine of 10 Big Ten weekends … provided a scoreless ninth inning in relief in comeback victory against Maryland (4/18) … came back on Sunday and provided four innings in the series win over the Terrapins (4/20) … final two appearances of the season were three-inning, scoreless saves against Michigan (5/16) and Iowa (5/22).

Pitched in 31 contests across two seasons of action for Northwestern (did not pitch in 2022) … held a collective 5.03 earned run average with 48.1 innings pitched in two seasons … struck out 60 batters and finished with a 2-2 career record with two saves.

2023 (Junior Season - Northwestern)
Season: Made 18 appearances for Northwestern in 2023 … finished the season with a 5.58 earned run average … received the win against Illinois (4/9) and Notre Dame (5/16) … pitched a career-high 4.1 innings against Indiana (5/6) … struck out a season’s best five batters against Milwaukee (4/25) in 2.2 innings of relief … made eight appearances during the Big Ten season for the Wildcats … had eight appearances that lasted two-or-more innings.
