Indiana Cruises Past IPFW, 80-37

   BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women's basketball team improved to 8-1 on the year as the Hoosiers routed IPFW (4-5) on Wednesday night, 80-37. In a game in which Indiana never trailed, the Hoosier defense gave up just 37 points, the fewest since giving up 32 points to Central Michigan on Nov. 28, 2004.
  
  Sophomore Karlee McBride led all scorers with 13 points to go along with career highs of seven rebounds and four assists. Seven of McBride's points came in the second half. Sophomore Larryn Brooks also hit double digits for Indiana with 11, followed by a 10-point effort from both Amanda Cahill and Jenn Anderson.
  
  The Hoosiers opened up the contest with a 12-4 run, including five points from Taylor Agler, who finished the game with eight points.
  
  Indiana extended its lead to 22-8 following an 8-0 stretch with 9:38 remaining in the half and the Hoosiers headed into the break up 36-22.
  
  Anderson came out firing to start the final stanza, scoring six quick points as Indiana went on a 16-2 run, including a 14-0 stretch that pushed the Hoosiers' advantage to 52-24 with 13:30 remaining.
  
  Indiana never looked back as the Hoosiers allowed just 15 second-half points, tying a season-best. The Mastadons shot just 25.9 percent (14-for-54) from the field and 12 percent (3-for-25) from the arc.
  
  The Hoosiers out-rebounded IPFW, 52-28 and garnered a 52-18 advantage in the paint.
  
  Freshman Tyra Buss added nine points and netted four steals, marking her sixth game with four or more takeaways. Alexis Gassion chipped in eight points, while Jess Walter scored seven points with four rebounds.
  
  Next up, Indiana travels to Milwaukee to take on the Panthers on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
