THE OPENING TIP
Indiana opens Big Ten play on the road at Wisconsin on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. ET inside the Kohl Center. The game can be heard on the state-wide IU Radio Network with Greg Murray on the call. The contest can be watched on BTN Plus.

• Thursday's matchup against Wisconsin will mark the start of Big Ten play for both the Hoosiers and Badgers for the 2015-16 season.

WISCONSIN AT A GLANCE

Wisconsin have shot the ball well from long distance as UW is shooting 36.5 percent from beyond the arc so far this season. The Hoosiers begin their 18-game conference slate with three of the first four Big Ten contests on the road. IU will play its first home conference game on Sunday, Jan. 3 vs. Michigan at 12:30 p.m. ET live on BTN. Five Big Ten teams are currently ranked nationally in top 25 polls.

After playing Miami (FL) and West Virginia in the Florida Sunshine Classic, Indiana played seven postseason teams from a year ago during the non-conference slate (12 games), including five teams that played in the NCAA Tournament last season (Tennessee State, Chattanooga, DePaul, Ohio, Miami). IU is one of just 11 programs in the power five conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC) to have played five or more NCAA tournament teams from 2015 in non-conference play this season.
WARMING UP
In the win over Yale, IU shot 54 percent from the field for the game (27-of-50), marking the fifth time this year through 12 games that Indiana has shot 50 percent or better in a game. The Hoosiers shot 50 percent or more from the floor in five games in all of the 2014-15 season last year. Indiana also shot a season best 70 percent (7-of-10) from 3-point range against Yale.
GET ON THE BUSS
Tyra Buss is currently ranked second in the nation (in games played through Dec. 28) and leads the Big Ten in free throws made (84) and free throws attempted (106) while shooting 79.2 percent from the free throw line. The sophomore also ranks 31st in the country in scoring average (19.6 points per game) and is fourth in that category in the conference.
Buss has scored in double figures in every game this season and in 16-straight games dating back to last year. She currently leads the team in scoring, assists (3.9 apg) and steals (1.9 spg) while playing 36.4 minutes per contest.
Buss has scored 21 or more points in five of the last seven games and was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Florida Sunshine Classic after tallying 28 points against then-No. 23/21 Miami and 23 points vs. West Virginia. During IU's two games in Orlando, Buss shot 15-of-19 from the field (51.7 percent), 5-of-9 from 3-point range (55.6 percent) and 16-of-19 from the charity stripe (84.2 percent).
CLIMBING TO THE CA-HILL TOP
Amanda Cahill has been efficient for the Hoosiers so far this year, shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 48.5 percent from 3-point range. The sophomore is averaging 13.2 points and a team-leading 7.2 rebounds per game with 1.6 steals per contest. Cahill has had six games this year where she has shot 66.7 percent or better, three contests where she hit 71.4 percent or better from the field.
She achieved her second double-double of the year and eighth of her career in Indiana's win over Yale last time out with 12 points and 10 boards. Cahill also added two blocks and a steal.
Cahill has scored in double figures in 10 games this year and has had seven or more rebounds in every game but three. She was one of six players named to the All-Preseason WNIT Team at the conclusion of the tournament on Nov. 22. Cahill scored in double figures in all three games for the Hoosiers in the tournament and led IU in rebounding in every contest.
GETTING TO THE LINE

In Indiana's win over Yale, Alexis Gassion led the Hoosiers with 19 points, her fourth consecutive game in double figures. Over the last four games, Gassion has averaged 15.5 points per game during that stretch. For the year, Gassion has scored in double figures nine times, including five of the last six games.
Against No. 23/21 Miami on Dec. 20, Gassion tallied 19 points with a season-high three steals while nailing a career-high tying eight field goals. She also accomplished a double-double against Samford on Dec. 11 with 13 points and a season-high 13 rebounds.
KARLEE MCBUCKETS
Karlee McBride has caught fire in the last two games off the bench for the Hoosiers. McBride has scored in double figures in each of those contests while shooting 10-of-15 (.667) from the field and 4-of-5 (.800) from 3-point range.
McBride tallied 16 points last time out in the win over Yale, hitting 6-of-7 from the field and 2-of-2 from 3-point range. She had 10 points against West Virginia on Dec. 21, nailing 4-of-8 field goals and 2-of-3 from long distance.
