THE OPENING TIP
Indiana welcomes Michigan to Assembly Hall on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 12:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network with Sam Levitt and Shelley Till on the call. The contest can also be heard on the state-wide IU Radio Network with Greg Murray on play-by-play.
DID YOU KNOW?
• Sunday's matchup with Michigan will be Indiana's first home Big Ten contest of 2015-16 and the first time the Wolverines have played in Assembly Hall since Feb. 19, 2014.

MICHIGAN AT A GLANCE
Michigan will look to bounce back from two straight defeats. U-M is averaging 81.0 points per game so far this year, leads the Big Ten in 3-point field goal percentage (40.2 percent) and is second in the conference in overall field goal percentage (50 percent). The Wolverines share the ball well with 17.9 assists per contest and are outscoring opponents by a plus-21.2 point margin per game. BIG TEN PLAY BEGINS
The Hoosiers began Big Ten play for the 2015-16 season at Wisconsin on Thursday. Indiana begins its 18-game conference slate with three of the first four Big Ten contests on the road. IU will play its first home conference game on Sunday, Jan. 3 vs. Michigan at 12:30 p.m. ET live on BTN. Five Big Ten teams are currently ranked nationally in top 25 polls.
GET ON THE BUSS
Tyra Buss currently ranks third in the country (in games played through Dec. 31) and leads the Big Ten in free throws made (86) and attempts (110) while shooting 78.2 percent from the free throw line. The sophomore also ranks 24th in the country in total points (251) and 33rd in points per game (19.3 ppg) and is sixth in that category in the Big Ten.
Buss has scored in double figures in every game this season and in 17-straight games dating back to last year. She currently leads the team in scoring, assists (4.0 apg) and steals (1.9 spg) while playing 36.4 minutes per contest (2nd in B1G) and leads the conference in total minutes played with 473.
After struggling to start the year from 3-point range, the Mt. Carmel, Ill., native has shot 56.3 percent from beyond the arc (9-of-16) in the last four games, hitting two or more treys in each of those contests.
Buss has scored 20 or more points in seven games this year. Buss was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Florida Sunshine Classic after tallying 28 points against then-No. 23/21 Miami and 23 points vs. West Virginia. During IU's two games in Orlando, Buss shot 15-of-19 from the field (51.7 percent), 5-of-9 from 3-point range (55.6 percent) and 16-of-19 from the charity stripe (84.2 percent).
CLIMBING TO THE CA-HILL TOP
Amanda Cahill has recorded back-to-back double-doubles in IU's last two games. Cahill has three double-doubles on the season and nine in her career. The sophomore tallied 13 points with a season-high 11 rebounds at Wisconsin last time out. She scored 12 points with 10 boards against Yale with two blocks and a steal.
Cahill has been efficient this season for the Hoosiers, shooting 50 percent from the field and 42.1 percent (6th in B1G) from 3-point range while averaging 13.2 points (26th) and a team-leading 7.5 rebounds per game (T-9th) with 1.5 steals per contest. Cahill has had six games this year where she has shot 66.7 percent or better, three contests where she hit 71.4 percent or better from the field.

She was one of six players named to the All-Preseason WNIT Team at the conclusion of the tournament on Nov. 22. HIT THE GASSION PEDAL
Junior Alexis Gassion has scored in double figures in each of the last five games and led the Hoosiers with 19 points vs. Yale on Dec. 28. Over the last five, Gassion has averaged 14.4 points per game during that stretch while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range.. For the year, Gassion has scored in double figures 10 times, including six of the last seven games.
Against No. 23/21 Miami on Dec. 20, Gassion tallied 19 points with a season-high three steals while nailing a career-high tying eight field goals. She also accomplished a double-double against Samford on Dec. 11 with 13 points and a season-high 13 rebounds.
HOOSIER EFFICIENCY
In the win over Yale on Dec. 28, IU shot 54 percent from the field for the game (27-of-50), marking the fifth time this year that Indiana had shot 50 percent or better in a game. The Hoosiers shot 50 percent or more from the floor in five games in all of the 2014-15 season last year. Indiana also shot a season best 70 percent (7-of-10) from 3-point range against Yale.
