Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana Field Hockey team (4-10, 1-5 B1G) concluded another Big Ten weekend as they hosted Rutgers Sunday afternoon on Senior Day. Despite a strong effort, Indiana would fall to the Scarlet Knights, 4-0.
KEY MOMENTS
• Rutgers was the first to strike in the contest as Daphne Groothius notched her 10th goal of the season,
• The second goal of the game was scored by Rutgers in 26th minute of action to make the score 2-0 going into halftime.
• The Scarlet Knights tacked on another goal in the 47th minute of play to increase the elad to 3-0.
• Linde van Schalk of Rutgers scored the final goal of the game to seal the Rutgers victory.
NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers honored their four seniors, Nora Aucker, Elle Hempt, Taylor Swope, and Claire Woods on Sunday afternoon who played in their last home game in the cream and crimson.
• Senior Claire Woods led Indiana in shots as she has three. Elle Hempt notched two shots while Kelsey Giese had one.
• Indiana had five penalty corners, which continues the streak of having a corner in each of their contests this season.
• Sachi Ananias and Shelby Querry combined for three saves throughout the afternoon.
