Hoosiers play next Sunday at Miami (OH).
Iowa City, Iowa – The Indiana Field Hockey team was defeated by the No. 16 Iowa Hawkeyes, 3-0, on Sunday at Grant Field. The Hoosiers made seven saves in the loss.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the 13th minute, the Hawkeyes grabbed the lead with a redirect goal. Indiana held tough to finish the half only down a goal.
• More than 10 minutes into the second half, Iowa again took advantage of a redirect and increased its lead to 2-0.
• Iowa cemented its lead midway through the second half when they converted on a corner to make it 3-0.
NOTABLES
• Sachi Ananias got the start and made two saves in the half she played.
• In the second half, Shelby Querry tied her career-high in saves with five. Her previous career-high came against Drexel.
• Ciara Girouard registered a shot. She has recorded a shot in each of the eight games she has played this season.
QUOTABLES
"Maybe our counter attack. Our defense played strong today, made some nice stops. We just weren't able to get enough out of our counter attack once we got back on the attack today. "
— Head Coach Amanda Janney Misselhorn
"I think going forward, we just need to connect better all over the field whether it's finding our mids, finding our forwards, defense. Or on defense, being connected on this end so we aren't leaving anyone out to dry. Playing a good solid team defense side of the game."
— Graduate student Elle Hempt
UP NEXT
