BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Anchored by a 21-0 run through the second and third quarters, the No. 4/7 Indiana Women's Basketball team downed Norfolk State 72-42 on Tuesday night inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

KEY MOMENTS
- Graduate student guard Ali Patberg received the ball just inside the perimeter and hit a jump shot before getting fouled and completing the and-one opportunity at the 6:06 mark in the first quarter.
- Norfolk State guard Camille Downs hit a three-pointer at the 1:49 point in the first period to take the lead. Following a Spartan timeout, junior forward Mackenzie Holmes hit back-to-back layups at the rim to give IU a 17-14 lead following one period of action.
- IU (3-0) went on a 17-0 run over the final 7:23 of the second quarter to take a 39-21 lead into the break.
- After taking an outlet pass from senior guard Grace Berger up the right side, Patberg finished a layup through contact and converted the ensuing free throw to put IU up 50-25.
- Senior forward Aleksa Gulbe broke into double-digit scoring with a three from the right-hand arc at the 5:28 mark in the third period.
- Patberg cashed home a corner three with 2:17 in the third quarter to take a 25-point lead and force a Norfolk State timeout.
- Gulbe finished a tough layup through contact and proceeded to knock down the free throw to give IU a 26-point lead early in the fourth period.

- Indiana won the first all-time meeting against Norfolk State, 72-42.
- Mackenzie Holmes and Aleksa Gulbe led the Hoosiers with 22 points each.
- Head coach Teri Moren secured her 350th career win. Moren is in her 19th season of collegiate coaching.
- Gulbe scored 10 of the Hoosiers 18 points in the third quarter and finished with a career-high 22 points. She added tied a career-high with 12 rebounds for her third career double-double.
- Holmes scored 22 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field.
- In the Hoosiers first three games Holmes has shot 27-for-40 (67.5 percent) from the field.
- Ali Patberg had 17 points and six assists for the Hoosiers.
- Holmes, Patberg and Gulbe combined for 65 of the Hoosiers 72 points.
- Holmes made five of her first six shots and scored 10 points in the first quarter. In the last two opening periods Holmes has shot a combined 11-for-12 and has scored 23 points.

- At the 7:23 mark of the second quarter Norfolk State got a bucket to cut the Indiana lead to one at 22-21. The Hoosiers used a 17-0 run to go up 39-21. The Hoosiers held the Spartans scoreless from 7:23 to halftime.
- Indiana outscored Norfolk State 22-7 in the second quarter.
- The Hoosiers scored the first four points of the third quarter to extend their run to 21-0. They ended up holding Norfolk State scoreless for 9:57 of game time (7:23 from second quarter and 2:34 from third quarter).
- Indiana outscored Norfolk State 55-28 over the final three quarters of the game.
- The Hoosiers held the Spartans to 15-for-60 from the field (25.0 percent).
- Indiana shot over 50 percent from the field for the third straight game as they went 27-for-53 (50.9 percent).
