Indiana To Raise ALS Awareness On Sunday Against Maine

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's basketball returns to its home court at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Maine. The game will serve as the annual ALS Awareness game and fans are encouraged to wear red.

Maine has lost three of its last four heading into Sunday's meeting, most recently picking up am 87-75 win over Stonehill. Graduate guard/forward Caroline Bornemann averages a team-high 13.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in 2024-25. Sarah Talon also averages double figures with 11.3 points per game. The Black Bears are averaging 58.9 points and shooting 39.9 percent from the floor through their first seven games.

- The Hoosiers are returning from Battle 4 Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas where it went 2-1 including a win over No. 18/17 Baylor. They also picked up a victory in the opening round of the tournament over Columbia (72-62) but fell to No. 16/15 North Carolina in the championship game.
- Junior guards Shay Ciezki and Yarden Garzon each picked up all-tournament team honors for their performances in the three-day tournament. Ciezki averaged 13.7 points per game while dropping a season-high 34 points in a win over No. 18/17 Baylor. Garzon scored in double figures in two of three games including 18 points in the win over Columbia. She also averaged 6.0 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
- Junior guard Lexus Bargesser saw her first action of the season at Battle 4 Atlantis. The Grass Lake, Mich. native battled a foot injury in the early portion of the non-conference schedule and averaged 16.8 minutes per outing.
- Indiana will host its annual ALS Awareness game, which holds a special meaning to head coach Teri Moren, who lost her mother, Barbara, to the disease in October 2014. All fans are encouraged to wear their red to Sunday's game and support the fight against ALS.
- The series between IU and Maine is renewed again this season. It's the final game in a home-and-away series where Indiana visited Maine last year in Portland, Maine.
