BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers will start Big Ten Conference action on the road on Saturday when it goes to Penn State. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET.

Penn State is coming off its first loss of the season in a 72-67 effort against St. John's. It is led by the Big Ten's second leading scorer, redshirt sophomore center Grace Merkle, who averages 20.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Moriah Murray adds 16.2 points er game on a 45.2 percent clip from the floor and 43.5 percent from 3-point range. The Lady Lions are averaging 85.1 points per game while shooting 50.1 percent from the floor.

- The Hoosiers will being Big Ten play on the road for the second-straight season and have won six-straight league openers dating back to the 2018-19 season. They are 21-21 all-time in conference play openers.
- While Penn State leads the all-time series, IU currently holds a seven-game win streak in the series. It's the longest for the Hoosiers in the meeting between the two teams which dates back to 1982.
- Indiana is coming off a 67-63 win over Southern Indiana at home on Wednesday night. Junior guard Shay Ciezki led the way with 17 points by going 5-for-8 from the floor. Three other scored in double figures in the win including 14 points from junior guard Yarden Garzon.
- Garzon paces four Hoosiers who average double figures this season as she leads the way with 13.8 points per game. Ciezki (11.7 ppg.), junior forward Lilly Meister (11.7 ppg.) and graduate student guard Chloe Moore-McNeil (11.1 ppg.) all add double figure averages.
