Indiana Cross Country Hosts Sam Bell Invitational in Season Opener

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's and women's cross country teams open the season with the Sam Bell Invitational at the Sam Bell Cross Country Course on Friday evening.
The women's teams will run a 4K at 6:00 p.m. ET with the men set to run the 6K at 6:40 p.m. ET.

HOOSIER LINEUP
This is the first of IU's four regular season meets, and the solo opportunity to catch the Hoosiers on the course in Bloomington.
Indiana will have six men and nine women and a combined four unattached runners.
The men's squad has six returners including Brayden Henkle, Garrett Hicks, Nate Killeen, Aaron Lord, Andrew Mangum and Cole Raymond who will run the 6K.
On the women's side, six freshmen will make their debut with the Hoosiers including Mary Eubank, Ellia Hayes, Michaela Quinn, Maddie Rocchio and Sophie Wray along with senior transfer Elka McFarland.
Returning for the Hoosiers includes Emma Everhart-Deckard, Katelyn Winton and Catie McCabe.
BACK AT HOME
IUXC will compete at the Sam Bell Cross Country course for the first time since 2022. This will be the first meet under head coach Eric Heins. At the meet, the Hoosiers will race against Indiana State, University of Southern Indiana and Cincinnati as they look to build on a solid foundation for the season.
