Indiana Varsity Eight, 2V8 Lead Way on Opening Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 15-ranked Indiana's two top boats claimed race victories on opening day as the Hoosiers competed in the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational Saturday (March 15) on Lake Melton in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Racing will resume with a final session Sunday starting at 8:34 a.m. ET. Indiana's first crew will launch at 8:34 a.m. ET. Fans can follow live results at HereNow.com.
In both victories, Indiana managed to finish almost five seconds faster than Alabama and 16 seconds quicker than Wisconsin. The Hoosiers will test themselves against No. 16-ranked Duke on Sunday.
Originally slated for two sessions Saturday, weather pushed the start back to mid-afternoon, leaving only enough time for each crew to race once. Indiana raced No. 19 Alabama and Wisconsin in five of six races and managed a 6-5 head-to-head record in the afternoon.
