No. 2/7 IU Seeks to Bolster NCAA Squads at Zone Diving Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Diving can create a significant advantage for Indiana swimming diving later this month at the NCAA Championships, but first the Hoosier divers must qualify from NCAA Zone C Diving Championships March 10-12 inside the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University.
Zone championships act as diving's regional qualifying meet for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. All 12 Hoosier divers that have competed this season tallied NCAA Zone qualifying marks this season, allowing them this week's opportunity to advance to the national meet. Fans can watch the meet on the B1G+ digital platform.
Indiana was the top-scoring diving program at last season's championships, led by the men earning 121 points – 66 points better than the second-best diving program (Ohio State). Head coach Drew Johansen was named the CSCAA Men's Diving Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, and senior Carson Tyler won NCAA titles on 3-meter and platform to claim the CSCAA Men's Diver of the Year award.
Zone C has the following number of qualifying spots available for each event:
Divers that finish within the spots available automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships in that event. A diver may qualify for a second or third event by finishing top 12 in those competitions.
