BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– The Indiana men's tennis team looks to bounce back this week as it travels for the first time this season to Charlottesville, Virginia, for a pair of matches.
The first match will take place on Friday, Jan. 23, at 9 am, when the Hoosiers look to pick up a ranked win against the No. 2-ranked Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia currently holds a 2-0 record after going on the road to beat No. 3 TCU 6-1 and No. 2 Texas 4-1.
For the Cavaliers, Dylan Dietrich and Keegan Rice both rank within the top 30 for collegiate singles players, according to the ITA. On the doubles side, Dietrich and his teammate Mans Dahlberg hold the No. 1 ranking for doubles, setting up for an exciting clash after Indiana's Sam Landau and Jip van Assendelft knocked off the No. 2-ranked team last weekend against Mississippi State.
Following Indiana's match with Virginia, Cornell and Michigan will face off at 9 a.m. The winners and losers from each match will advance to play one another.
The consolation match is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, at 9 a.m., followed by the finals at noon.
