Spring Season Begins Against Kentucky

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Spring volleyball kicks off on Friday (April 10) evening as the defending national runners-up, Kentucky, visit Wilkinson Hall. The two sides will play a traditional match but could add an extra set if one of the two teams wins the opening three games. First serve is set for 7 p.m. on B1G+. Tickets are on sale through IU's ticket office.
Even though the two teams haven't played in the regular season since 2019, head coach Steve Aird added the Wildcats to the spring schedule. Kentucky won the SEC Tournament title in 2025 before advancing to the national final for the second time in six seasons. The Hoosiers went to the NCAA regional semifinals for the first time since 2010 before losing to top-seeded Texas in Austin.
Fans will get their first look at a collection of newcomers including outside hitter Izzy Clark, setter Mallory Matheny and outside hitter Sara Snowbarger. IU returned all 13 eligible players from last year's roster for the spring season – including All-American setter Teodora Krickovic. All healthy players will get the chance to work through the lineup against the Wildcats.
This is the first of two matches in the spring that are open to the public. IU will also play Purdue at the Fishers Event Center next week (April 19). The Hoosiers will head to Europe in late May for a foreign tour that includes a collection of additional exhibition matches.
