BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Following a summer away, fans returned to Wilkinson Hall on Friday (Aug. 14) evening for the beginning of the 2026 campaign. The Indiana volleyball team met Notre Dame for a designed four-set exhibition as both squads continue to work through fall camp. Behind 17 kills from second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager, the Hoosiers grabbed a win (25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11) in front of the home crowd.
All available players got the chance to feature in Friday's match as head coach Steve Aird and his staff continues to test different lineups. Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic started the first two games and dished out 19 assists with four digs and four blocks. On the night, IU hit .287 (53-18-122) with all three setters getting some run in the victory.
Jager and first-year outside hitter Sara Snowbarger played the entirety of the match on the left side. The two combined for 32 kills while each hitting above .255 on 70 total swings. Fifth-year middle blocker Kiki Granberry joined them in double figures with 10 kills on a .643 hitting percentage. Third-year middle blocker Ella Boersema added five kills, four blocks and four aces.
IU will return to the court next Friday (Aug. 21) for the Cream and Crimson scrimmage. IU will split its squad into two sides to play three sets of volleyball to wrap up fall camp. The regular season gets underway with a top-10 test at No. 7 Louisville (Aug. 28). IU's home opener comes against Cal Poly in the second week of September.
