BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana men's soccer continues a three-match homestand Sunday (Aug. 23) with the middle match, hosting Evansville on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and tickets are on sale here. IU staff, faculty and students get in free with a valid Crimson Card ID. Fans unable to attend can watch the match via the B1G+ digital platform.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive an Indiana soccer scarf.
KICKING OFF
• The Hoosiers look to carry the momentum from a dominant performance in their season opener on Thursday, a 3-1 victory over Notre Dame. Oliver Moller-Jensen recorded two goals and one assist in the win, and Easton Bogard got off his mark with a score of his own. A crowd of 7,078 packed Bill Armstrong Stadium, marking the third-largest soccer crowd in the facility's history.
• The team is still making early impressions after adding the No. 1-ranked transfer class according to Top Drawer Soccer. Nine players made their Indiana debuts on Thursday, including six of the eight members of that transfer class – Moller-Jensen being one.
ABOUT THE PURPLE ACES
• Evansville just missed out on a second consecutive NCAA Tournament bid in 2025, winning the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title (3-1-3) but falling in the conference tournament final to Western Michigan.
• Head coach Robbe Tarver leads Evansville in his fourth season with the program after winning MVC Staff of the Year in 2025. Riley boasts a 22-21-15 record in Evansville.
• Evansville welcomes 18 newcomers to its roster in 2026.
• The Purple Aces fell in their season opener, a 3-2 result versus Bellarmine. Evansville equalized in the 14th minute from an own goal, then Pablo Calvete scored in the 88th minute to cut the deficit to 3-2.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana has won 33 of 41 meetings with Evansville, owns an .854 winning percentage in the series and is unbeaten in 21 matchups going back to 1992 – with a 22-0-3 record in that span.
• IU was frustrated in the last meeting, a 1-1 draw in 2024 despite a 20-6 shots difference in the Hoosiers' favor. Indiana had won 13 consecutive home matches in the series prior to the result. Current Hoosiers Jacopo Fedrizzi and Michal Mroz both played for Evansville in that match, with Fedrizzi scoring UE's 73rd-minute equalizer.
• Indiana and Evansville have met three times in the NCAA Tournament but not since 1996. Indiana owns a 3-2 record in such matches.
