BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The non-conference portion of this year's schedule ends this weekend as the Indiana volleyball team (5-2, 0-0 B1G) heads down south to play Coastal Carolina and NC State. Since the beginning of 2023, IU is 33-9 against non-Big Ten opponents. The Hoosiers are riding a three-game winning streak into the action in South Carolina.
Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager continues to raise her play as she develops into the team's primary attacker this year. She averaged 4.67 kills per set while hitting .415 in a pair of sweeps against Cal Poly and Eastern Illinois at last weekend's Indiana Invitational. She's top 10 in the conference in kills per set (3.72) over the first seven matches of the season.
Her second-year counterpart, setter Teodora Krickovic has raised the floor of her game as well. The Serbian guided IU's offense to a pair of hitting percentages above .375 in the two wins in Bloomington. She has scored 36 points this season (23 kills, 7 aces and 12 blocks) while dishing out 10.28 assists per set.
IU has entered conference play with at least seven wins in the previous four seasons. It can do so again with a pair of wins against Coastal Carolina and NC State over the weekend. The contest with the host Chanticleers is set for 6 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 18) evening. The matchup with NC State (Sept. 19) is IU's fifth against a power conference opponent this year.

BIG KIKI: Fifth-year middle blocker Kiki Granberry has reared her head as the best blocker on this year's squad. She has a team-best 28 blocks (1.33 per set) in just six matches. Granberry has a pair of matches this season (vs. No. 12 Texas A&M, vs. Cal Poly) with seven blocks.
KEEP CLIMBING: Second-year setter Teodora Krickovic is closing in on 1,500 career assists during her time in Bloomington. She would only be the 12th setter in program history to hit that plateau. The Serbian has 1,469 over the last two years and is averaging 10.64 assists per set in her career.
TALLYING WINS: Since the 2022 campaign (four-plus years), Indiana has racked up 82 wins under head coach Steve Aird. That includes at least 15 wins in each full season during that stretch. IU will be looking to reach that plateau again for the 5th-straight year in 2026.

Coastal Carolina (4-3, 0-0 Sun Belt)
• The Chanticleers are coming off a week that saw them beat Wofford and lose to Tennessee. Coastal Carolina has been extremely balanced this year with seven players averaging between 1.83 and 3.00 kills per set. The team has spent time in a 6-2 offense. Setter Kaylee Musick is providing 7.18 assists per set.
• Coastal's block has stepped up big this year. Hatteras Welker, a former standout at Eastern Michigan, has 32 total blocks (1.07) as part of a team that averages 2.37 rejections per set. Libero Jonna Spohn, who played against IU at Maryland, is at 4.30 digs per set early in the year.
NC State (7-1, 0-0 ACC)
• The Wolfpack have survived some early tests and are off to a great 7-1 start to the year. Outside hitter Britni Silver has carried a big load as a freshman and has turned in 3.90 kills per set (117 total) in her debut collegiate season. Silver had 20+ kills against Wofford (25) and LSU (22) this year.
• Another freshman, setter Eva Long, has been involved early in the proceedings for NC State. She is dishing out 10.43 assists per set (313 total) as her team hits .258 on the year. Five players have between 1.60 and 3.90 kills per set this season. Middle blocker Talia Francom is averaging 1.64 blocks per set.
