MADISON, Wis. — Two of the best defensive sides in the country settled for a draw Tuesday (Sept. 22) night, as No. 2-ranked Indiana men's soccer (7-0-2, 2-0-1 B1G) and No. 12 Wisconsin (5-1-2, 0-1-2 B1G) battled to a 1-1 result in Madison.

Nolan Kinsella gave Indiana the lead in the 57th minute with his first-career goal, his shot coming from a free kick that the hosts could not clear. 11 minutes later, the Badgers took advantage of sustained pressure and scored in similar fashion, as their Isaac Brown-Samper finished off a corner kick with a shot from the top of the box – also his first collegiate goal.

Indiana remains unbeaten on the year at 7-0-2 and has earned points in each of its three conference matches, now sitting at seven points total (2-0-1).

KEY MOMENTS
• 12' – Indiana had an early opportunity as Stephane Njike played in the air, across the box to Collins Oduro, who left for Oliver Moller-Jensen. Moller-Jensen had space for a first-timer, but his shot flew right into the hands of Wisconsin goalkeeper Judewellin Michel.
• 57' – GOAL! Alex Barger's free kick was headed down to the feet of Kinsella, near the penalty spot. Kinsella volleyed it first time and sent his shot straight into the side netting for the opening goal. Indiana 1, Wisconsin 0
• 68' – GOAL! A corner kick deflected off heads into the path of Brown-Samper, who one-touched a bouncing effort towards the far post. Indiana defender Alex Barger tried to get a foot on it, but the shot deflected awkwardly and into goal. Indiana 1, Wisconsin 1
• 90' – In the final 10 seconds, the ball came to Njike on the left wing. He sent a curving shot towards the back post, forcing Michel to dive to push it away as time expired.

NOTABLES
• Tuesday's match marked the 60th meeting all-time between Indiana and Wisconsin. IU moved to 44-5-11 in the series and remains unbeaten against the Badgers since 2018 (9-0-2).
• Wisconsin's goal marked the first time an IU opponent has scored an equalizer this season. Indiana still has not trailed in a match since August 31, nor has it allowed multiple goals in any game.
• The referee handed out six yellow cards in the match – four to Wisconsin, two to IU.

UP NEXT
Indiana returns home for a four-match homestand, beginning with Friday (Sept. 25) afternoon's Big Ten match against Penn State at 1 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers boast a 6-0-0 record at Bill Armstrong Stadium this season.
