2008 (SENIOR)
Started all 18 games for the Hoosiers ... scored three goals and recorded two assists for a career-high eight points ... had a team-high 23 shots on goal ... selected to play in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game ... a member of the 2008 All-Big Ten Tournament team after scoring one of Indiana's two goals against Iowa in the first round ... garnered second team All-Region honors from the NFHCA ... scored one of five Hoosier goals in Indiana's 5-1 win over Missouri State ... also notched an assist on a Meg O'Connell score against the Bears ... put the ball past the keeper against Pacific to force overtime in a 4-3 win ... assisted on Meg O'Connell's goal in the 2-1 win over Michigan ... captained the Hoosier defense to three shutouts.
JUNIOR YEAR (2007)
Played in 17 games, starting 14 ... scored first career goal on Sept. 2 against Saint Louis ... scored the second goal of her career on Sept. 21 against Missouri State on a penalty stroke ... earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2006)
Appeared in 19 games, making 18 starts in 2006 • helped a strong Hoosier defense tally four shutout victories • recorded one defensive save in a win against Maine • notched her first career assist in the game-winning goal, overtime goal against Northeastern (10/14) • tallied three shots on the year, including two on goal.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2005)
Started all 22 games in her first season as a Hoosier • helped the tough IU defense to five shutout victories • recorded a team-high two defensive saves • picked up the first defensive save of her career against then-No. 13 Louisville (10/11) • recorded her second in the Big Ten regular season championship game against then-No. 6 Penn State on Oct. 28 • took two shots on the season against Michigan State (9/24) and Penn State (10/28).
PREP/PERSONAL
Three-year starter for Scripps Ranch • won Western League championship three times • selected as the Western League Player of the Year in 2004 • won the Serra Tournament and USFHA Festival Pool "O" Championship her junior season • her summer league team won the Folsom Indoor Tournament her junior season as well • a RFT and NFT participant • member of USFHA Futures Elite • named to the All-CIF Div. I team, Western League team, Serra Tournament team, and a RFT and NFT participant • named to the Union-Tribune's All-Academic team • also played soccer and softball for Scripps Ranch, earning a total of 11 varsity letters • inducted into the Breitbard Athletic Award from the San Diego Hall of Champions in 2004 • named to the Union-Tribune's All-Academic Team in three sports for three years • honored with California's Interscholastic Federation Player of the Year as a senior • daughter of Rick and Dana Castro • has two sisters, Rochelle and Taylor.
