BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana downed Boston College on the road in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night, 76-67. The backcourt duo of Tyra Buss and Larryn Brooks led the Hoosiers as they scored 24 points and 21 points, respectively.
The win give Indiana its third-straight victory in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and the program's first road win in the annual even since 2010.
IU took advantage of the charity stripe the entire night as Indiana shot 29 free throws, connecting on 23 of them to shoot 79.3 percent for the game.
Brooks and Buss combined to score IU’s first 13 points as the Hoosiers jumped out in front 13-4 in the game’s first 3:16.
Midway through the first half, the Hoosiers used an 8-0 run to build the lead to 30-14 and eventually led by as many as 18 points in the opening stanza. Brooks led Indiana with 16 halftime points as IU led 45-29 at the break.
Out of the locker room, Taylor Agler nailed a 3-pointer and Buss hit a pair of free throws to push the IU lead to 21 points, 50-29. That lead would amount to be Indiana’s largest of the game.
Boston College then tried its best to chip away at the Hoosier lead, shrinking it to as little as eight points with just over a minute to play. Indiana never let BC get any closer to hold on for the road win.
The 24 points scored by Buss is a career-high total for the freshman as she also added four steals while shooting 4-of-7 from 3-point range and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe. Brooks went 8-of-12 from the field and was 3-of-6 from long distance.
Amanda Cahill grabbed 10 boards in the win, marking the fifth time this year that she has had double-digit rebounds in a game. Agler scored eight points for Indiana as Cahill and Karlee McBride each added seven.
The Hoosiers will head home for a pair of games beginning with IUPUI in Assembly Hall on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. ET.
