Indiana Track and Field Closes Strong Weekend on the Road

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana track and field closed a split weekend of competition at the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center and the Midwest Classic at the Fall Creek Pavilion on Saturday (February 1). The Hoosiers posted four event wins on the final day and totaled six victories on the weekend.
"We had productive meets at both Indianapolis and Notre Dame," said head coach Ed Beathea. "Both teams are looking more prepared for competition."
"I imagine everyone is looking forward to our upcoming off weekend. They have earned it"
Day two started in the Meyo Invitational, as Maddie Rocchio finished fourth in the 3000 meter in a personal best time of 9:42.67.
Michaela Quinn (4:52.84) ran a PR in the women's mile with her first sub-five minute mile as a Hoosier.
Amelia Dodds finished fourth in the women's 800 meter with a personal best 2:06.42. Her time was good for the third fastest in the Big Ten this season and fifth in school history. Veronica Hargrave (2:07.52; PR) and Nola Somers Glenn (2:09.20) joined Dodds in the top 10, finishing sixth and tenth, respectively.
In the men's mile, Martin Segurola finished with the third fastest mile in school history of 3:56.70 to finish first and Aidan Lord followed in 4:08.76 to place eighth.
Mariah Wehrle ran a personal best 9:12.43 in the women's 3000 meter run to finish fifth in the event. Her time also marks the fifth fastest in program history
Keefer Soehngen earned the first Hoosier win of the day in the 800 meter (1:49.82) in the Meyo Invitational and Tamer Saleh followed with a win in the 60-meter dash (6.79) to post the 15th-fastest time in school history at the Midwest Classic.
Staying in the Midwest Classic, Indiana had two finishes in the top 10 in the women's 400 meter race. Ryann Parrish (56.31) earned a personal best to finish third, while Kylee Poulton (57.04) finished in sixth.
On the men's side, Daquan Tate (47.86) and Cameron Mullens (48.37) each ran personal bests to finish second and third, respectively.
In the field, Makayla Hunter won the women's shot put, moving to sixth all-time in program history with her 17.14m/56-2.75. On the men's side, Dane Sebert set a personal best of 17.12m/56-2 to finish second along with Seth Brosseau in third.
Mahogany Jenkins and Kelly Moran continued their strong weekends in the pit. The duo finished second (12.39m/40-7.75) and third (12.06m/39-6.75), respectively, in the triple jump.
