BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 12 Indiana water polo fell in the Midwest Invite finale on Sunday morning to No. 20 Wagner.

KEY MOMENTS

Indiana (9-2) had a pair of goals from senior Portia Sasser in the first quarter as the two teams played to a 2-2 tie in the first eight minutes.
Wagner scored three unanswered to open up the second quarter before junior Nicole Tyner scored back-to-back goals with 3:00 remaining. The Seahawks closed the half with two more goals as IU found itself in a 7-4 deficit at the break.
Senior Skylar Kidd put herself in the scorebook on a natural goal with 7:05 on the clock in the third. Tyner kept it a two-score game midway through but Wagner again scored two unanswered to end the third with a 10-6 lead.
The Hoosiers came within four on a pair of goals from junior Louisa Downes, including a powerplay opportunity at 2:55, but wouldn't get any closer.

NOTES

Tyner recorded a team-high three goals, her fourth hat trick this season. Sasser, Kidd and Downes all recorded two goals each.
Sasser and junior Grace Klingler each picked up three steals.
