
Indiana to Host No. 11 Iowa Doubleheader to Open Big Ten Play

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– Indiana Field Hockey is set to stay in Bloomington to open Big Ten Conference play at Deborah Tobias Field. Indiana will host No. 11 Iowa in a doubleheader on Friday, Sep. 19 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sep. 21 at 12 p.m. The Friday game will be a conference game while Sunday will be a non-conference matchup.
WEEKEND REWIND
• Indiana Field Hockey defeated Lock Haven on Friday, Sep. 12 and Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, Sep. 14.
• Indiana defeated Lock Haven in record-breaking fashion, winning 12-0. The Hoosiers broke their previous program record of 11 goals in one game, which was previously set in 2013 against St. Louis.
• The Hoosiers built on that momentum to best Saint Francis (Pa.) 5-1 on Sunday.
• Ten individual Hoosiers recorded a goal during the weekend and the team took 81 collective shots through both games.
• Lily Freeman, Ava Winner, Mijntje Hagan and Hannah Riddle each scored their first goals of the 2025 season.
BACK TO B1G PLAY
• Friday's game against Iowa will be Indiana's first Big Ten conference game of the 2025 season.
• In 2024, the Hoosiers improved their conference record from 0-8 in 2023 to 4-4. This improvement earned Indiana the No. 6 seed for the 2024 Big Ten Tournament.
• IU notched conference wins over Rutgers, No. 12 Iowa, No. 7 Michigan and Michigan State in 2024.
• Inés Garcia Prado is ranked third for the Big Ten with 12 points this season, followed by Charlotte Glasper with 11 points.

• The Hoosiers will host No. 11 Iowa in a doubleheader on Friday, Sep. 19 and on Sunday, Sep. 21.

• Iowa stands at 5-1 with a 3-1 victory over No. 20 Miami (Ohio) and a 5-1 win against Louisville.

• Indiana's Inés Garcia Prado, Emma Thompson and Mijntje Hagen were named to the Big Ten's preseason Players to Watch list.
• Senior Emma Thompson, a captain in 2024, is once again a team captain in 2025. Junior Inés Garcia Prado was voted in as a team captain for the Hoosiers as well.
• Indiana's roster bolsters a former high school duo who are once again playing together at the collegiate level. Javi Baeza and Charlotte Glasper played together at Shaker Heights High School (Ohio).
