Cooper, Hoosiers Power Past Fighting Irish for Fifth-Straight Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana handled Notre Dame on Tuesday night (April 14), winning 11-1 in five innings at Andy Mohr Field.
The Hoosiers are now 32-10 on the season and have won five straight games.

KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana secured their first run and took the lead in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Josie Bird to left field to score Aly VanBrandt.
• Notre Dame's Sydny Poeck singled in the top of the second. Following that, a single from Tenley Sweet sent Poeck home to put the Irish on the board, 1-1.
• Indiana reclaimed the lead with a score of 2-1 when Brooke Mannon came home on a Notre Dame error.
• After stealing third base, Cassidy Kettleman subsequently scored on a Fighting Irish error to make the score 3-1 in the bottom of the second.
• Mannon was walked with bases loaded and zero outs in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring Madalyn Strader to move the score 4-1. In the next at bat, pinch hitter Josie White was hit by pitch to notch another run when Ellie Goins scored to make it a 5-1 game.
• Two at bats later, Alex Cooper crushed a grand slam over the center field wall to move the score to 9-1.
NOTABLES
• Alex Cooper's grand slam comes two years after she hit a walk-off grand slam to defeat Notre Dame, 5-3, in 2024 (April 16).
• Avery Parker was 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple.
• Ella Troutt moved her record to 10-6 with the win tonight. Troutt did not allow any hits against the Fighting Irish.
• Indiana has now won five straight games, all of which have come over in-state opponents.
• The win is IU's 18th win by run rule for the 2026 campaign.
UP NEXT
Indiana will be back in action on Wednesday (April 15) at Louisville for an 8 p.m. first pitch at Ulmer Stadium.
