ROSEMONT, Ill. – A brilliant all-around performance and a 3-0 week for the Indiana volleyball program helped second-year setter Teodora Krickovic be named the Big Ten's Setter of the Week on Monday (Sept. 14) afternoon. This is the second time in two years that she has earned the honor from the league offices.
IU earned a trio of victories (Southern Indiana, Cal Poly and Eastern Illinois) in five days as its offense began humming at an elite rate. The Hoosiers were set to a .338 team hitting percentage last week as Krickovic dished out 11.60 assists per set (116 total). IU hit a season-best .391 against Eastern Illinois (Sept. 11). In all three victories, IU's five primary attackers had at least five kills in each contest.
Her elite offensive decisions weren't the only thing that helped IU last week. She added 18 digs, 11 kills, six blocks and five aces while keeping opposing defenses off guard. On the season, Krickovic is averaging 10.28 assists per set, 2.00 digs per set, 0.92 kills per set and 0.48 blocks per set. She is set to become the 12th setter in program history with 1,500 career assists this weekend.
The Hoosiers will ride a three-game winning streak into the final weekend of non-conference play on Friday (Sept. 18) evening. This is the 14th Big Ten weekly honor that IU has earned under the guidance of head coach Steve Aird and the third by the young Serbian setter.
