Associate Head Coach Rachel Morris
Rachel Morris completed her fourth season with the Indiana Volleyball program in 2025. She has served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator since July 1, 2023.
Programmed with a desire to develop student-athletes on and off the court, Morris helped implement daily meditation, conversations about mental health and group-bonding activities upon arrival to Bloomington in 2022. Morris was also named to Volleyball Magazine's Under 40 College Coaching Hotshots list in 2023.
Morris, handed the keys to the team’s offensive game plan when she arrived at IU, has turned IU into one of the most effective offensives in the country. The Hoosiers finished with a top-20 national hitting percentage in 2025 (.281) - a mark that smashed a single-season program record.
In the four seasons that Morris has served as a coach in Bloomington, IU has won 77 games overall and 42 matches in the Big Ten. Both of those marks are program records in a four-year span. She has coached two All-American setters - Camryn Haworth (2023) and Teodora Krickovic (2025 - over the last two years.
In 2025, Morris helped IU run the fastest pace in the entire country. All six players that played in a primary attacking role achieved career highs in hitting percentage. Middle blocker Victoria Gray (.378) finished second in a single season in program history in hitting efficiency.
For three-straight seasons (2023-25), IU has hit above .208 in each campaign. On top of that, the Hoosiers smashed a single-season hitting percentage record (.254) in Big Ten matches only in 2025. In all four years with Morris coaching the setters, they have reached the 1,000-assist threshold in every campaign.
In 2023, Haworth led the Big Ten in assists (1,247) and led the Big Ten and NCAA in service aces (73), the most in a single season at IU since volleyball became a NCAA sponsored sport in 1981. She was the only power five player with multiple triple-doubles and finished the season with 10.22 assists per set.
The Hoosiers matched a then program record with 21 regular season wins in 2023 and beat Purdue for the first time since 2012. IU finished in a tie for sixth in the conference standings, the best finish by the program since the Big Ten expanded to 14 teams.
During the 2022 campaign, Morris helped lead the Hoosiers to a 16-16 record including a 9-11 finish in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers won nine conference matches for the first time since 2010 and finished eighth in the Big Ten, the highest team's finish since the conference expanded to 14 teams.
IU beat No. 5 Ohio State and No. 25 Michigan on the road, marking the first season in program history with multiple road victories over ranked teams. The win over the Buckeyes was the first over a top-five team on the road in program history and the second-highest ranked win in the team's history.
Morris worked directly with sophomore setter Haworth to help orchestrate an offense that saw four athletes record 200-plus kills on the season. Haworth dished out 1,111 assists and had one of the best all-around seasons in recent memory.
Haworth was named First Team All-Big Ten and AVCA Northeast All-Region Honorable Mention for her contributions and also earned the nod as AVCA National Player of the Week and Big Ten Setter of the Week after a weekend that saw her score a triple-double and lead the Hoosiers to wins over No. 5 Ohio State and Northwestern.
