
Hoosiers Set to Begin Big Ten Tournament Play on Friday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey begins the Big Ten Tournament journey on Friday afternoon when the play ninth seeded Michigan State. The game will be hosted at Maryland with a start time of 3 p.m. With a win on Friday afternoon, the Hoosiers would face No. 1 seeded Maryland on Sunday at Noon. All of this weekend's action will be broadcasted live on BTN Plus.

LAST TIME: ROAD GAME FINALE
Indiana concluded the regular season on the road at Penn State on Friday, Oct. 19. The defense continued to be the strength for Hoosiers as Sachi Ananias and Shelby Querry combined for nine saves throughout the contest. Even though production was high on the offensive side of the ball, Indiana was blanked by the Nittany Lions, 4-0.
STRONG DEFENSE
The Hoosiers have found strength through their defense in their last three matches. Ananias and Querry have combined for 19 saves in the cage in their last three games. Indiana has also received strong play from backs Elle Hempt, Nora Aucker, and Hanna Zarrilli. Hempt has also made her mark in the offense recording three shots in her last two matches.
FACING THE SPARTANS
Friday's contest will be the second time this season the two teams have met on the turf. In their last meeting, the Hoosiers found a late goal from Taylor Swope to edge the Spartans, 1-0. Overall in the series, Michigan State has the edge in the last five meetings 4-1.
